Intro: This guide was made and written by me, to guide a variety of playing styles effectively through playing one of my favorite classes: the FOmar. I have received help from Dark Grassblade as well, he made the 195 max stat guide and proofed this over for me many times, and for that, I am grateful.
Anyway, you may have noticed that this is two guides wrapped in one, and may be confused by which to go with. To determine this, ask yourself this simple question, ¡§Which is more important? Having max stats with few slot items and at 195 or playing a hybrid FOmar and achieving max stats at 200 exactly with one more slot item?¡¨ Perfectionists will want to go with the first option, and those wishing for a two in one character that still performs well will go with the second option. Once you¡¦ve made your choice, pick a guide and go!
The 195 max stat guide:
This guide can max all your stats by level 195. If you want to get all stats maxed ASAP with rounded growth and one mag all the way, this is for you.
Mat usage:
MST 62
EVP 30
Luck 25
mag: 5/38/50/107
Slot items: God Ability x2
That¡¦s it. At very high levels this setup will own, and your FOmar will be maxed. Great if you have the patience to get all the way up there.
The hybrid guide:
i.)why?
Making a hybrid FOmar is tricky business. In fact, many vets have dismissed the notion all together! Why? Because to excel in one, you must sacrifice the other. So is not the case with this plan. While it should be mentioned max stats should not be the goal with this setup, you¡¦ll max the ones that count on each setup. Basically, they all may be maxed, just not at the same time. This idea is very exciting because it keeps it fresh, and you¡¦ll be able to tackle problems in two separate ways. Read on for the details¡K
ii)mats:
Now this is a bit different than norm, you should feed your FOmar around 135 mind mats, 30 evp mats, 52 def mats, and 25 luck mats. The last 8 are up to you. This will ensure that at lower levels (the 120s- 160s) your FOmar can max his Mind and Dex with one mag. This will consist of the caster: he has max ata (pitiful 163) and max MST 1340. The luck mats help with criticals. And power is going to be gained through the mag, and let you use some of the listed items below earlier, and we have plenty of mind already. Also, if max stats are your concern as well, this can allow max stats (atp, def, ata, lck, mst, and evp) when used with the Sato and 2x god ability, 1 god mind, and still use the god battle.
iii)items: hit, hit, hit, hit, hit!! FOmars need stuff with hit!! One of the easiest high hit items to make is a rainbow baton. First, hunt for a high hit weapon in the diska family. When satisfied, hunt the magic rock iritsia, and voila! You FOmar¡¦s crutch is born! Go to this item when all else fails, if you get one, that is.
Geist Vulcans with hit are also your friend, seek these out.
When your ATP gets high enough, you should invest the time to get an s-rank twin. It¡¦s the best weapon he can get damage-wise. The ata is lacking here though, so use it in norm/norm/hard combos only. For a special like Geist (I really hate shelling out 3600 for tri¡¦s) and Dark Grassblade prefers berserk. Up to you.
For casting, you¡¦ll want 1 of 2 items: The first choice is the Sorcerer¡¦s Cane. Have a char with the proper section id do ¡§Doc¡¦s Secret Plan¡¨ runs until he gets this 1/901 gran sorcerer drop. It has geist, boosts your already strong gi- techs by an additional 20% and cuts tp cost by 10%...yah¡Kgo get one!
For those with less patience and more photon drops, shell out 45 pds to Gallon for a Heart key, and use it on a wand to obtain the Magical Piece. I¡¦ll admit, this looks fruity as hell on a FOmar, but you can¡¦t argue with the 30% gi- tech bonus.
iv) Slot items: Go with 2 god abilities, a god battle, and a god arm/ God technique if casting (the mind/dex mag will make the arm unnecessary).
v) Mags: You¡¦ll need two- one for casting and one for melee. For melee, make a 5/141/54/0 Sato, and for casting make a 5/1/88/106 mag of your choice. This allows your MST to max at a fair level and max your ata- making all those geist specials more useful. Because of the high dex, you could even remove the god arm and replace it with a god technique, or a cure unit.
vi) Putting it all together.
Now then, with the slot items above, and the Sato shown, by level 121 or so you should have 161 ata and high ATP (depends on your shifta) with that s-rank twin you got. This should rarely miss at all, and the special on the third hit should also have a decent chance of connecting.
Most importantly, while in melee mode, cast high level support techs! This will be where the true strength of the melee FOmar is revealed. With level 30 s/d and j/z, you'll take so little damage it'll blow your mind, and you¡¦ll out damage hunters while soloing. Thus this makes for a great soloer.
For casting, all those mind mats will max out your MST really fast- making room for the dex. This will allow your geist vulvans (w/ hit) and Sorcerer¡¦s Cane geist ( the cane has a natural 53 ata boost, which is also nice) to hit a lot, thus making it so you don¡¦t have to waste money on tris nor interrupt play to go back to buy more.
All in all, both these setups can be used alternately, as seen fit. You¡¦ll feel as if you have two characters, and that¡¦ll keep the game fresh for hours to com ƒº
3) The section ID/Hunting recommendation Guide:
First, the 2 items listed above that are section ID based are the Sorcerer¡¦s Cane and Iritsia. Redria can find the Iritsia only, but not the cane, and Yellowboze vice-versa. Both of these ID¡¦s are solid choices, as they are the ¡§all arounders,¡¨ and find a little of everything, which is good because a hybrid FOmar is a bit of a mix.
As mentioned earlier, Doc¡¦s secret plan is the best place for finding grans, and these IDs can find his right arm: bluefull, pinkal, oran, and yellowboze. Out of these four, Oran and bluefull are no good, leaving pinkal and yellowboze. Pinkal can supposedly find tech disks easier, but this is just a strong theory. I sorta believe it. That leaves Yellowboze here, so go with it or Pinkal, depending on what you think of the tech ¡V drop theory.
The magic rock Iritsia is a no brainer: Redria Hildetorr only. If you don¡¦t already have a Redria character capable of this and have a high hit diska, definitely choose this solid class.
The other items such as ¡§stuff with hit,¡¨ geist vulcans w/ hit and magical piece can be found by any class. It¡¦s just a matter of luck with the hit part. A Magical Piece is fairly simple to make if you have at least 45 pds, as well, but you must be online to get it from Gallon¡¦s Shop. Otherwise keep looking for the superior Sorcerer¡¦s Cane.
